"POLICE+FIRE" NEW YORK CITY-2014
On many New York City street corners you will notice what seem to be ancient fire and police call boxes. The question that comes to mind is, "Do these actually function?" I'm not sure they do but I love the way they look. Since I was a kid I've been fascinated by these common yet unique objects that have lived on the streets for a century or more. When the sun shines on the red paint I have a hard time not photographing them. This one shot in 2014 caught my eye with a perfectly vivid yellow wall behind it. I'm happy to report that it is still there on a corner in the East Village.
